The inspiration for this project came from Dalva, a novel written by Jim Harrison that tells the story of a resilient woman on a journey of self-discovery. Set against the backdrop of the American Midwest, the book delves into themes of love, loss, and the complexities of relationships. Through vivid prose, Harrison weaves a compelling narrative that explores the depths of the human experience. Shot in studio in NYC I hoped to encompass these undertones and explore the visual representation of the human experience.
